Cyber security refers to the body of the technology that protects devices, programs and data from the attack, damage & unauthorized access. There are different names for cyber security like information security, computer security, network security, software security, IT security & data security. These are not synonyms with each other.
The core of the cyber security is CIA i.e. Confidentiality, Integrity and availability. In this webinar, you’ll get insight about the CIA. In general terms, data is a confidential thing in which details are mentioned. E.g bank statements, personal information, credit card numbers, trade secrets or government documents. You need to put counter measures like strong access controls, data classification & labeling etc.
Integrity occurs when the intruder modifies the message. E.g- someone hacked an AP tweet about white house explosions triggers panic. You need to ensure that data has not been tampered with and, thereof, can be trusted. The expert has shared the counter measures of integrity as well.
Availability is protecting the functionality of support systems and ensuring that data is fully available at the point in time when it is needed by its users.
