Marks-Allotment-Pattern-for-CBSE-Class-12th-&-Class-10th

Today, the main reason to worry for many of the students in the upcoming academic year is because of the step taken by the Government of India. Government has recently cancelled class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams. Every student has a fear as to how CBSE will calculate results of 12th Class? What will be the assessment criteria for students? How the evaluation of marks will take place? What will be the admission criteria for the colleges? And many such more queries.

As we already know due to this pandemic and rising cases of Covid-19, Indian Government has decided to cancel board exams of both class 10th and 12th. This decision has been taken in light of the health and safety of the students only. Now, CBSE will announce results of class 12th by July 31st 2021 and for class 10th results it will be declared by July 20th 2021.

For class 10th, board had already announced the marking scheme and promotion criteria. The education ministry clarified that class 10 results will be calculated on the basis of internal assessment and also it will include student’s performance in practical. According to the announcement by the CBSE, the students will be evaluated out of maximum 100 marks for respective subjects. The internal assessment for 20 marks will be as per the existing policy while the CBSE came up with an innovative idea for distribution of remaining 80 marks in each subject.
Class 12 students will get marks on the basis of Class 11 and Class 10 results. So, the overall marks of a student will be depended on student’s past performance in 12th exams. Here, 12th pre-board also plays an important role as 40% marks will be added in 12th result and rest 60% will be given on the basis of class 10th & class 11th final exams. The board said 30% marks of class 11th and 30% marks based on best-of-three class 10 marks will be considered.

Students should know few things about CBSE class 10th & 12th results:
1. In practical student’s marks will be evaluated on the basis of the marks submitted by schools out of total 100 marks. Students will be placed in the essential repeat or in compartment category, if student is unable to meet the qualifying criteria. CBSE will give an opportunity to those students who remain dissatisfied with the evaluation method. Student will have a chance to improve their scores when the situation becomes conductive.
2. In July 2021, the CBSE is likely to declare Class 10 results. CBSE had earlier said that the result will be declared by the 3rd week of June. The board had given the date for schools to upload Class 10 students’ marks till June 30. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure safety of teachers and staff members the decision to extend the timeline was taken in view of the lockdown in several states.
3. On June 7, the CBSE asked schools to submit marks by June 28 after completing pending practical and internal assessments of Class 12 students online. A resource person from CBSE Examination Controller said that after observing some schools have not been able to complete the school-based assessments in various subjects due to the Covid pandemic.

Although, the whole last year have been unusual and impacted the traditional education sector widely. The authorities of this country are still trying to fight the situation and came up with a resolution in such times.
