In India, 26 million Covid-19 instances have been recorded – 2nd after the US. India has become the new epicenter of the world’s pandemic. The 2nd wave in India has stunned the healthcare system, leaving hospitals struggling to cope and manage essential pills, oxygen, beds etc. since April 2021. There is no definition of wave in general and it is mostly used to describe the rising and declining trends of infection over a period of time. The shape of a wave resembles by the growth of curve. If growth curve increases it means the rise in Covid wave. The second wave had a huge spike in just a short time span. But infection now appears to be slowing down. In the month of June, cases declined below 100,000 for the first time since 14th April 21.

Mostly all the industries in India got affected by Covid-19. The retail sector, travel & hospitality sector, aviation sector, MSME and education sector all are majorly affected by this pandemic. Education sector is still able to fight Covid -19 by providing online classes to students. Education sector has shifted from traditional classrooms to digital platforms. In this tough situation, Indian government is trying to secure the future of their students. They want their career to be least impacted in a negative way. Simultaneously, they have to keep the health and safety of the children at forefront too. It was a dilemma but at the end safety has to always come first.

In 2021, the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) board exams of class 12th became the most debatable thing in India. After the second wave of Covid hit the country, everything is shattered. Everyone has a fear of Covid because it has psychologically created an ever-lasting impact in our minds. Last year in 2020, people were not serious about Covid and they took things lightly as it was the first wave. It was not affecting children last year, but things have changed now in the year 2021. Children below 10 years of age are getting affecting from corona virus. In this year, we heard about so many new things related to Covid with new variants, black fungus, white fungus and other viruses adding to the existing problem.

Now in this situation, everyone is worried about their family, career and job. Parents are worried about their children’s future. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi held a high level of meeting in which he decided to cancel the CBSE class 12th board exams. In the meeting, home minister Amit Shah, Minister of Environment, Railway Minister and other ministers were present. Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, also wanted that class 12th board exams to be cancelled. Parents of the students also did not want their child to appear in exams without taking vaccination.

Parents and teachers are naturally worried about the health of the students. Looking into that PM has taken the decision to cancel exams in favor of students and their safety. PM does not want students to appear in exams in this stressful situation. Class 12th results will be made according to set target standards in a period bound way, the government said in an official statement.

“Our priority is student and their heath. We want to provide healthy environment to students, it is the most important thing and we can’t compromise on this”, these words were by our PM Modi. He also added that in the present time, such exams can’t be the objective to put our student’s life in danger.
